Peace. Peace can be defined as ‘the absence of disturbance’ or ‘tranquillity’. The peace God offers is different. The kind of peace God offers us doesn’t make sense. In Philippians 4:6-7 we are told not to be anxious but by prayer and thanksgiving make our requests known to God. And when we do that what happens? The peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Another verse I came across recently is 2 Thessalonians 3:16 which says may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way.
God’s peace isn’t meant to make sense. It doesn’t make sense to have peace in the middle of a storm does it? Regardless of what we face and what’s happening around us we can have peace- complete peace. We just have to tell God what is worrying us, tell Him our hurts, our needs and trust Him enough to be able to thank and praise Him in advance for coming through for us.
In that verse in Thessalonians it also says may the Lord be with you all. Our God is present with us. What a comfort that is!
May you have peace today and always, in all circumstances, in every way, in every form it takes, no matter what as you look up to God.
Stay peaceful, stay blessed x
